Female yeast infection is the most common condition caused by yeast. This is because yeast not only lives in the guts of women but, also in the vagina. Men mostly suffer from gut related yeast infections. When yeast grows too rapidly, they cause an infection called candidiasis which is a vaginal yeast infection. The scientific name for yeast is candida albicans. Some of the major causes of yeast infection are pregnancy, birth control pills, menopause and monthly periods. These factors will cause hormonal imbalances that will see an unstable environment created in the vagina giving rise to an infection. Another cause for infection is low immunity and this can be caused by many factors including illnesses like diabetes, Aids and even stress.
