Ummm… is there actually a question here? Since guacamole is so easy to make and has so few ingredients I don’t even see why somebody would ever buy those packages in the produce section. Or why they would buy the dip in the cooler, ready made.

Well, I suppose if you had no time whatsoever or no confidence at all. Or maybe if you knew absolutely nothing about guacamole dip and had to start somewhere. In fact, I recall a time when I considered buying one of those packages where you just add avocado and presto! You have your dip.

Over the past few years it seems not only has U.S. economy been quite turbulent, but it seems more natural disasters are occurring. Just to name a few for example, multiple earthquakes like the one in Japan and Haiti. In the United States there has been massive flooding in some parts of the country. I don’t know about you but these things while disastrous in the loss of lives and economic hardships, have made me think a bit more responsibly by making emergency preparations ahead of time. There are many ways to decorate with  flowers than with a vase.  You can use wreaths, garlands and also make wonderful centerpieces which really are not hard to make.  Because flowers are expensive when you buy them, instead look around you for and see what nature has to offer.  Fields and meadows abound in flowers.  Some of the popular flowers are goldenrod, black eyed susans, queen anne’s lace, chicory, field daisies, purple loosestrife, lupine, and grasses.  Don’t forget autumn brings branches of colorful leaves, such as scarlet sugar maple, yellow poplar, rust oak and vivid red sumac.  Don’t forget to include stovetop espresso coffee for those special occasions.
